Bulls Lose Weekend Finale At Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team completed it spring-opening weekend on Sunday with a 7-0 loss at Princeton.
The Tigers won all three doubles matches to get out to the early lead. UB was able to send two of the six singles matches into three sets.
Senior Hao Sheng Koay won his first set at second singles 6-3, before dropping the second set in tiebreaker and the third in a super tiebreaker. Junior Valdemar Holm also played a three-set match at third singles as he overcame a 6-0 loss in the opening set. Holm won the second set 6-3 before losing the third, 6-4.
"This weekend didn't produce the team results we wanted, but we learned a great deal about what we need to improve mentally," said head coach Lee Nickell. "We blew a few leads today, which was a recurring theme this weekend, so we will work hard on improving our mental intensity towards the end of sets and will be ready to play a good St. Bonaventure team this upcoming Saturday."
The Bulls will host the Bonnies on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1:30 pm at Miller Tennis Center.
