
Jillian Lawton Named MAC Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday morning that junior Jillian Lawton has been named the MAC Swim and Dive Athlete of the Week.
Jillian Lawton had a stellar weekend in the pool as the University at Buffalo swimming team traveled to Penn State for the first ever dual meet between the programs. Lawton went on to win two events and was a member of two winning relays. She won the 50 free in a time of 23.63 and in the 100 free, she finished in a time of 51.58. She was also a member of the winning 200 and 400 free relays. She helped the team to finish the 200 free relay in 1:33.27, while beating Penn State by nearly three seconds in the 400 free relay in a time of 3:26.79.
This marks Lawton's first MAC Athlete of the Week honor.
Buffalo returns back to the pool on Saturday as they host Ohio. The dual meet is set to start at 11 a.m. at the Alumni Arena Pool and Natatorium.
