
Bulls Head To Michigan For Pair Of Conference Tilts

BUFFALO, NY – Fresh off a pair of wins last weekend, the University at Buffalo volleyball team hits the road to begin a four-match road trip, beginning Thursday night at Eastern Michigan. UB will then head to MAC-leading Central Michigan on Saturday.
The Bulls are 7-13 on the season and 3-5 in league play following wins over Western Michigan and Northern Illinois last weekend. Freshman Abby Leigh was named the MAC East Defensive Player of the Week after she had 17 blocks over the two matches.
Senior Rachel Sanks leads the Bulls with 214 kills, while Polina Prokudina has added 205 kills. Fellow senior Scout McLerran continues to lead the Buffalo offense with 610 assists. Defensively, sophomore Paige Beck leads the Bulls with 205 digs, while Lexi Nordmann averaged just under a block a set. As a team, UB is averaging 2.08 blocks per set.
Eastern Michigan, the defending MAC Tournament Champions, are 7-13 on the year and 2-6 in league play. Franki Strefling leads EMU with 253 kills and Cassie Haut adds 247 kills. Riley Taylor paces the offense with 608 assists and defensively, Camille Schomer leads the Eagles with 343 digs.
The Chippewas have been one of the more impressive teams in the MAC as evidence by their 17-3 record and 7-1 mark in league play. CMU was riding a 12-match winning streak until this past Sunday when they dropped a 3-2 decision to Miami (OH).
Kalina Smith leads Central Michigan with 242 kills, while Kendall Braate leads the team in assists with 524. The Chippewas are averaged 1.2 aces per set, led by Lisabeth Rosario-Martinez, who has 25. Defensively, Megan Kern has a team-high 386 digs.
Both matches will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
