
Six UB Swimmers Competed at the Olympic Trials

OMAHA, NE - Six members of the University at Buffalo swimming and diving team recently competed at the United States Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, NE. Five members of the men's team and one member of the women's team went up against some of the best swimmers in the world for a chance to represent the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
On the women's side, Megan Burns was the Bulls' top finisher as she placed an impressive 46th out of 180 swimmers in the 50 freestyle. She finished with a time of 26.01.
On the men's side, both Hudson Carroll and Ryan Gordon, an incoming transfer from Indiana, both competed in the 100 backstroke. Carroll finished 129th with a time of 57.48, while Gordon placed 172th with a time of 58.42. Gordon also competed in the 200 backstroke and finished 108th with a time of 2:08.85.
Luke Otto competed in the 100 breaststroke and finished 81st out of 139 with a time of 1:03.58. Scott Huang swam a 2:21.12 in the 200 breaststroke to finish 82nd.
Former UB standout and current volunteer assistant coach Mike Dugan also competed and finished 124th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.56.
