
Bulls Fall On The Road At Miami (OH)

OXFORD, OH – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York volleyball team was swept on the road Friday night, falling to Miami (OH), 3-0.
The RedHawks took the contest 25-19, 25-17, 25-18 as Miami (OH) outhit the Bulls, .294 to .221. In the first set Miami (OH) raced out to a 10-3 lead, but the Bulls fought all the way back to tie it up at 18-18. However, the RedHawks ended the set on a 7-1 run.
In the second set, the two teams were tied at 9-9 before Miami (OH) scored eight straight points to take a 17-9 advantage, en route to a 25-17 win. UB led 6-4 in the third when the RedHawks went on a 12-1 run to take a 16-7 lead. The RedHawks took the set, 25-18.
The Bulls were led offensively by senior Megan Lipski, who had 16 kills, while tying her career-high with 19 digs. Lipski recorded just two errors as she hit .378 for the match.
Freshmen Megan Wernette and Valisha Watkins, as well as sophomore Cassie Shado all finished with six kills. Senior Marissa Prinzbach had a double-double with 33 assists and 10 digs. Sophomore Tessa Ooyama added nine digs as well her second career kill. Coincidentally, both kills have come at Millett Hall.
The Bulls will remain on the road tomorrow afternoon when they play at Bowling Green at 5:00 pm.
