
Bulls Drop Road Contest At Central Michigan

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo volleyball team began a five-match road trip on Friday evening, but fell to the host Central Michigan Chippewas, 3-0. The loss was UB's second straight, as its record now stands at 16-6 and 4-5 in conference play.
The Chippewas took the match by a score of 25-17, 25-17, 25-17 as it outhit the Bulls in all three sets. The Bulls held leads early in sets one and two, but was never able to pull away and the Chippewas went on runs in each set to gain the advantage. Central Michigan had its biggest lead in the third set, leading 20-7 before the Bulls were able to 24-17 by going on a 10-4 run and fighting off four match point. However, it wasn't enough as CMU scored the next point for the win.
Senior Kaja Schirmer led the way for Buffalo with six kills, while Christine Fritsche added five. Senior Dani Reinert had 12 assists and junior Taylor Prtichett added 11.
Senior Kelly Svoboda finished with a team-high 12 dig, while senior Dana Musil and sophomore Tahleia Bishop each added six. The Bulls finished with six team blocks, led by three from sophomore Amber Hatchett.
The Bulls remain in Michigan tomorrow night when they face Eastern Michigan at 7:00 pm.
