
Bulls Drop Four-Set Match At Toledo

TOLEDO, OH - The University at Buffalo volleyball team was unable to hold on to an early lead Saturday afternoon, falling at Toledo, 3-1. The loss drops UB's record to 6-8 and 0-2 in the MAC.
The Rockets took the contest 16-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-15 as they outhit the Bulls .161 to .106. UB had its chances early as it dominated the first set to take the lead. In the second set, Toledo got out to a 19-11 lead, but UB did have a set point at 24-23 late in the set. However, the Rockets scored the final three points of the set.
Toledo took that momentum from the second set victory and used it for third and fourth set wins at 25-15 a piece.
Sophomore Liz Scott led the way for the Bulls with 11 kills, while freshman Akeila Lain finished with eight. Fellow freshman Tahleia Bishop added seven kills on the afternoon. Junior Dani Reinert ran the offense with a match-high 41 assists.
Defensively, freshman Megan Lipski led the way with 12 digs, while junior Kelly Svoboda added 10. Lain had a team-high three blocks.
The Bulls return home next weekend as they host a pair of MAC opponents. The Bulls face Miami on Friday night at 7:00 pm and Bowling Green on Saturday evening at 7:00 pm.
