
Bulls End Long Road Trip With 3-0 Loss At Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, MI – For the second straight night, the University at Buffalo volleyball team played an outstanding first set, but fell short and was unable to make a comeback, falling to Western Michigan, 3-0. The game ended UB's four-match road trip and a tough stretch of six of the first eight conference matches on the road.
The Broncos took the contest 26-24, 25-14, 25-15 as they outhit UB, .250 to .099. The Bulls went up 19-13 in the opening set and ended up leading 24-19, but couldn't close it out as Western Michigan scored the final seven points of the set. WMU took that comeback and used it to its advantage winning the second and third sets easily.
Freshman Tahleia Bishop led the way with nine kills, while sophomore Liz Scott added eight. Junior middle blocker Carissa McKenna added six kills. Defensively, Kelly Svoboda led the way with 17 digs, while Bishop added nine. McKenna finished with five block assists, while Akeila Lain and Bishop each added three blocks.
The Bulls come back to Alumni Arena for just the second time in over month when they host Central Michigan on Friday night at 7:00 pm.
