Buffalo Team Awards Are A Bailey Sister Sweep

BUFFALO, NY - With over 130 appearances and 117 starts between them, Lindsey and Kristin Bailey came into the season ready to lead a young and inexperienced squad and were the cornerstones on both the offensive and defensive ends of the field. Tuesday morning, the dynamic duo were named the offensive and defensive most valuable players.
Kristin, a defender from Burlington, Ontario, was a cool and collected presence for the Buffalo back line and has made 51 starts for the team in her four seasons. Kristen, a psychology major, also took six shots on goal in her career. In 2010, Kristen started in each game she played in. When asked about Kristen, head coach Michael Thomas said that Kristen epitomizes consistency and it has been fun to watch her grow intellectually as a player. He added that Kristen's senior year was fantastic and that she is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the conference.
Like her twin sister Kristen, Lindsey hails from Burlington and is a psychology major. The slick-dribbling midfielder has been a focal point of the Bulls offense for the past four seasons and will finish her career in the top 20 for goals and total points, and in the top 15 in assists in the program's history. Bailey was a MAC All-Freshman Team member in 2007 and made the All-MAC second team as a sophomore after scoring eight goals and dishing out four assists. This season, Lindsey led the team in assists and is second on the team with two goals. Coach Thomas feels that Lindsey is a dynamic attacker and the enthusiasm she brings to the game will be missed.
The honor was Lindsey's second and third overall, as she earned the Top Newcomer award as a freshman. This is Kristin's first defensive MVP award.
