2013-14: Finished off his redshirt junior campaign with a winning record at 14-12 overall and a dual match record of 7-7… he started the season off with a third place finish at the Oklahoma Gold Invitational (11/9) going 3-1 on the weekend… he then took home a fifth place finish at the NYS Collegiate Championships, going 3-2… his biggest victory of the season came against Nick Harrison of Northern Illinois at the MAC Championships (3/8)… currently ranks first on the active roster with 60 career victories and 24 career dual match wins.
2012-13: Earned a 5-1 victory over Ryan Jauch of Northern Iowa at the MAC Championships to earn his second straight trip to the NCAA tournament...led the team in takedowns (20)...finished second on the team in total wins (25), dual meet wins (8) and 2-point near falls (3)...opened the season with three straight victories at the UP Open (11/4) to earn the first place finish...took home the fourth place finish at the Oklahoma Gold Classic (11/10) after winning two matches...he earned a fifth place finish at the NYS Intercollegiatre Championships (11/17) after compiling four wins...finished the season with a dual match record of 8-3 and a MAC record of 4-1.
2011-12: Earned a 19-8 major decision over #20 Nick Smith of Northern Illinois to finish as the true fourth at the Mid-American Conference Championships, earning a bid to the NCAA tournament in his first season as the team’s starter... finished fourth on the team in takedowns (21) and third in escapes (21)... finished sixth at the UB Open, winning three matches (11/6)... swept all four of his matches at the Wrestle For A Cure Duals - outscoring his opponents 36-15 - and had a second-period pin of Utah Valley’s Eric Dunnet (11/12)... beat Michigan’s Grant Pizzo 8-3 in a home dual meet (11/18)... finished fourth at the Body Bar Invite (11/19)... won both his matches at the UB Quad Meet, pinning Gardner-Webb’s Mike Slaughter and beating Bloomsburg’s Sean Boylan 5-2 (12/18)... beat Northern Illinois’ Nick Smith 12-2 in a conference dual (2/18).
2010-11: Redshirted but won 12 matches in open tournaments… competed at the UB Open, William & Jefferson Invite, Bill Harris Open, Penn State Open, Cleveland State Open, New York Championships and National Collegiate Open… placed fourth at the NCCC Open (12/4)... finished second at the Edinboro Open including a win over Kyle Fluke, who was once ranked tenth in the nation (2/12).
High School: He was the NHSCA Senior High School National champion at 106 pounds and Fargo Freestyle Junior National runner-up... posted 39 wins as a senior and was a two-time third place finisher at the New York State Large School Tournament... a three-time all league, two-time all section and two-time all state member... was a member of the NY National Team and was ranked in the top 10 in the country for his class by Wrestling USA magazine, WIN magazine, Intermatwrestle.com and theopenmat.com.
Personal: Born September 13, 1991... son of Robert and Karen Soria and has one brother, his teammate Mike... enjoys freerunning and BMX biking... also enjoys playing football and baseball... also was recruited by Iowa, Ohio State and Edinboro... volunteers at his church’s day camp... believes that “it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but it’s the size of the fight in the dog”... will study engineering at Buffalo.
