2011-12: Came in as one of the top freshman in the country and lived up to all the hype, finishing with a 24-9 record and just missed earning a wildcard to the NCAA tournament... tied with a team-high 16 dual wins, the seventh most in a single-season in program history... finished third on the team with 24 takedowns... was second on the team in three-point (8) and two-point (6) near falls... went 3-1 at the Wrestle for a Cure Duals (11/12)... after moving down from 184 to 174 pounds, he went on a 17-4 tear to end the regular season... finished 4-1 at the Virginia Duals, losing only to nationally ranked Greg Zannetti of Rutgers, 4-2 (1/14)... won a New York State title thanks to a 4-2 sudden-victory win over Cornell’s Marshal Peppleman (1/23)... finished third at the MAC Championships, beating Kent State’s Brandonn Johnson and Northern Illinois’ Caleb Busson (3/4).
High School: Finished fourth in the state championship as a freshman and then placed second as a junior... after just two seasons at Apple Valley, Waste already had won 107 matches for Apple Valley, a high school that has won the state championship nine times in the past ten years... became the sixth wrestler in history to earn the Cadet Triple Crown - winning the Cadet Freestyle National Tournament, the Cadet Greco Roman National Championship and the Cadet Folkstyle National Tournament... a five-time state champion in greco roman and a six-time state champion at the freestyle championships... went undefeated at The Clash Minnesota, a high school dual meet tournament featuring 32 of the top high school teams in the nation... finished second at the Cheesehead Wrestling Tournament in Wisconsin.. won the 171-pound bracket of the Intermat JJ Classic... won the Kaufman/Brand Open as a junior, a tournament featuring some of the best in the NCAA Division I, II and III ranks as well as junior college wrestlers... won his fifth national tournament at the FILA Jr. Greco Nationals, winning six straight matches en route to the title and only allowing his opponents to score only two points combined... also played football for Apple Valley.
