Career at UB
2009-10: Selected as the team’s captain, she went 17-11 in singles action, including 6-2 in the MAC, playing number 2 and 3 spots. Brought home the doubles title from the Cornell Invitational as she paired up with Denise Harijanto to play in the first doubles flight. They defeated Binghamton’s Jillian Santos and Lauren Bates 8-1 in the final round. Petrova and Harijanto were ranked 9th in the ITA Northeast, as they finished with 16-5 mark at first doubles.
2008-09: Selected as the team’s Most Improved Player. Finished with a 13-11 singles and 8-15 doubles record. Went 9-5 and 5-2 in MAC play at the fifth singles slot. Rallied from a first-set deficit to defeat Martina Vianna Ce of Southern Illinois in a third-set tiebreaker to help the Bulls to a 4-3 win over the Salukis. Picked up two victories at the MAC Fall Invite at Western Michigan.
2007-08: Finished the season with a 3-3 record and a 4-7 record in double play. Was hampered for part of the season by injury. Reached the consolation doubles bracket at the Army Invitational. Reached the semifinals in the “C” bracket at the Can-Am Invitational.

Was ranked the number one player in Bulgaria.
Personal
Born March 3, 1989. Daughter of Krasimic and Svetlana Petrova. Hobbies include dancing, reading and watching horror movies. Favorite athlete is Pete Sampras and favorite food is tomato salad with feta cheese. Plans to major in business with the goal of becoming a financial advisor.
