2020: One of four Bulls to appear and start in all 13 games in a shortened senior campaign… Recorded a .243 batting average with nine hits, a home run, four RBI and six runs scored in 37 at bats… Started the season on a high note with a two-run home run against UT Martin in the season-opener (2/6)… Notched a multi-hit game against Maryland Eastern Shore (2/15).
2019: Appeared and started in 41 games for the Bulls during her junior season… Named to the All-MAC first team… Posted a .317 batting average to go along with four home runs, tied for the team high with 20 RBI, and compiled a career-high 20 runs scored while recording a .455 slugging percentage and a career-best .411 on base percentage…. Notched nine multi-hit and four multi-RBI games on the season… Went 2-for-3 with an RBI double against Eastern Illinois (3/15)… Went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI against Northern Illinois (3/24)… Hit the game-winning home run against Central Michigan (3/29) as she finished 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI… Homered twice and finished with a season-high four RBI in a win over Akron (4/10)… Went 2-for-3 with a solo home run at Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure (4/24).
2018: Appeared and started in 44 of 47 games for the Bulls during her sophomore campaign… Named to the All-MAC second team… Finished off her sophomore season with a .364 batting average as she notched 47 hits, 37 RBI and 19 runs scored… Tied for second on the team with nine doubles and was second in home runs with six while also posting a .550 slugging percentage and a .406 on base percentage… Recorded her first three-hit game of the season against Mercer (2/9) as she went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and a home run… Went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI in a win over Youngstown State (2/23) and then followed that up with a three RBI performance, including a home run, against the Penguins on 2/25…Recorded a multi-hit game going 2-for-4 with an RBI in a win over Florida A&M (3/16)… Recorded two RBI in one at bat in a win over Eastern Michigan (3/24)… Smacked a season-high five RBI in the first game of a doubleheader against Akron (4/3) as she went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double and a home run… Went 3-for-4 with four RBI and a home run against Miami (OH) in the final series of the season (5/4).
2017: Was one of two UB players to play and start in all 55 games during her freshman season... was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team... finished off her first season with a .263 batting average as she notched 42 hits, 17 runs scored and 16 RBI...she ranked second on the team with nine doubles and two home runs on the season while posting a .381 slugging percentage and a .333 on base percentage... hit her first career home run in a 11-3 loss at Memphis (3/10) finishing the game going 1-for-2 with a homer and two RBI... notched her first career two-hit game in a 6-5 win over Hartford (2/25) as she went 2-for-3 with a run scored... recorded her first career three-hit game against Ohio (5/6) as she went 3-for-4 with a RBI and run scored... connected on her second career home run in a 2-1 win over Niagara (5/3)... had six multi-hit games and three multi-RBI efforts... posted a .925 fielding percentage as she notched a team-high 110 assists on the year.
High School: Played for head coach John Felicetti at Cypress High School...in 24 games as a senior, Martinez is batting .358 with 10 runs batted in, nine doubles and two triples...finished second in the Empire League Division I in each of the last three seasons and in 2014 they were a CIF SS D1 Semi-Finalist...named first-team All-League as a junior and as a sophomore was named second-team All-League and the Rookie of the Year.
Personal: Born August 10, 1998...daughter of Fernando and Heather Martinez...has one brother and two sisters...enjoys volleyball, baseball, and football...favorite movie is The Lion King...chose UB because of the education and the softball program...wants to set the batting average record while at UB.
