Bulls Host Canisius Before MACtion Series at Bowling Green

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (10-17, 3-3 MAC) will finish their five game homestand on Wednesday afternoon when they host the Canisius Golden Griffins (5-12, 1-4 MAAC) for a doubleheader. First pitch will be at 1:30 p.m. from Nan Harvey Field. this weekend. The Bulls will then return to MAC play with a three-game series at Bowling Green on Friday and Saturday.

On the season, Delaney and Smithson are the only Bulls to eclipse the 20 RBI mark with 23 and 22, respectfully. Abbey Nagel (18), Ardyn Hopf (17), Allen (15), Emily Gorman (12) and Terwilliger (11) have all reached double digit RBI seasons. Smithson has a team-high .589 slugging percentage to go with her .315 batting average. Hopf is second on the team with a .493 slugging percentage.
Terwilliger leads the way with 33 hits as Gorman (31) and Nagel (30) are also in the 30-hit club. Terwilliger has been a speed demon as she is 19-for-19 on stolen bases this season. As a team, the Bulls are 42-for-47.
As a team in conference play, the Bulls have the best on base percentage at .468. They are also the only team to have at least 10 stolen bases and not be caught. They're 12-for-12 so far through six MAC games. Defensively, they have thrown out the most runners in the conference with 10 on the season, four of which coming in MAC play. This is also the most in the conference.
In the circle, Olivia Russ leads the way with a 4-7 record and a 6.59 ERA. She has 23 of Buffalo's 58 strikeouts in 57.1 innings pitched.
Canisius is 5-12 on the season and 1-4 in MAAC play. They will host the Sienna Saints on Tuesday for a doubleheader before playing the Bulls. Ella Johel leads the Golden Griffins with a .353 batting average and a 1.041 OPS. Her seven extra-base hits are the most on the team, including three home runs. Bailey Alatorre has a team-high 11 RBIs. Olivia Manchester has a 2.38 ERA in 35.1 innings pitched.
The Bowling Green Falcons will head to the weekend with a 14-12 overall record as they sit with a 2-4 MAC record. Last weekend, they went 1-2 against the Western Michigan Broncos on the road. On the season, Addie Martin leads the Falcons with a .342 batting average as she's tallied 26 hits and a team leading 27 RBIs this year. She also leads the team with eight home runs. Taylor Behrendt has a team-high 27 hits. In the circle, Mackenzie Krafcik has a 2.37 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 76.2 innings of work.
