Bulls Earn Friday Sweep with Wins Over Niagara and St. Bonaventure

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team (8-0) came away with a pair of victories as they defeated Niagara 6-1 and St. Bonaventure 7-0 at Miller Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
The Bulls took the doubles point as Esmee Andresen and Maria Glowacka cruised to a 6-0 win at first doubles and Sarah Hartel and Julia Laspro won 6-2 at third doubles.
Laspro continued her strong play in singles action as she rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles and Liv Roestel followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win at the fifth position to put UB up 3-0. Blanca Berges earned the clinching point for UB with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at six singles before Andresen added to the lead with a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles and Sofia Zagumennova rounded out the scoring with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at fourth singles.
In the evening match against St. Bonaventure, the Bulls took the doubles point once again with wins at first and third doubles.
UB continued to roll in singles action as Hartel won 6-1, 6-2 at fourth singles, Glowacka cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles and Roestel clinched the match for UB with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the sixth position. Andresen continued her strong play with a 6-4, 6-2 win at first singles, Zagumennova cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at fifth singles and Laspro rounded out the scoring for UB with a 6-2, 6-3 win at third singles.
Buffalo is back in action on Saturday as they take on Binghamton at Miller Tennis Center at 12:30pm.
