Bulls Travel to Florida for Hampton Inn Gulf Coast Classic

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (2-8, 0-0 MAC) are back at it this weekend as they'll participate at the Hampton Inn Gulf Coast Classic hosted by FGCU. First pitch for the Bulls is set for 12:15 p.m. against the UConn Huskies (2-7) on Friday. They'll also play Louisville (7-3), Wisconsin (8-2) and FGCU (5-5) this weekend.
The Bulls' schedule this weekend will be as follows:
The Bulls are coming off a tough weekend last week at East Carolina. Although Buffalo did not win a game, they proved they could play with top programs. The weekend opened with a 3-2 loss to Maryland in extra innings. Against East Carolina, the Bulls fell just short as they lost 8-7 to the host team. Bri Delaney smashed a three-run home run against the Pirates. In their final game against Notre Dame, The Fighting Irish squeaked out a 4-1 win as they added insurance runs late in the contest.

Buffalo vs. UConn
SERIES: UConn leads, 2-0
NOTES: The Huskies have gotten the best of the Bulls in the all-time series. Last season, UConn racked up an overall record of 35-19 with a trip to the NCAA Tournament. Prior to winning the BIG EAST Tournament Championship, they finished 18-6 in conference play. They earned seven All-BIG EAST honors last season.

Buffalo vs. Louisville
SERIES: Louisville leads, 2-0
NOTES: The Bulls and Cardinals have met twice with the Cardinals taking both games. Most recently, Louisville won in 2019, 10-0. Louisville enters the weekend with a 7-3 record. Last season the Cardinals finished with a 26-25 overall record and a 9-15 record in the ACC.

Buffalo vs. Wisconsin
SERIES: Wisconsin leads, 2-1
NOTES: The Bulls and Badgers have played each other three times with the Bulls winning the last contest in 2010, 8-4. Wisconsin went 33-21 overall and 11-11 in the Big Ten.

Buffalo at FGCU
SERIES: FGCU leads, 1-0
NOTES: FGCU and the Bulls have only met once headed into this weekend. In 2011, the Eagles defeated the Bulls, 4-0. In 2025, the Eagles finished 29-30 overall and 14-10 in the ASUN. Four Eagles earned All-ASUN honors last season.

- Emily Gorman holds the UB career batting average title with a .390 average.
- Abbey Nagel and Bri Delaney brought the fire power to the Bulls' offense. Nagel has six RBIs and Delaney has a team-high 10.
- Bri Delaney has a team-high four extra base hits, including a home run against East Carolina.
- Lily Lauck has a career total of 82 walks, this is the third-most in program history.
- Abbey Nagel is fifth in program history with 35 career doubles.
- Reagan Terwilliger leads the team with five stolen bases and nine runs scored.
- Buffalo's pitchers have allowed a conference best 10.77 hits allowed per seven innings, good for 45th in the NCAA.
