Bulls Sweep Defending Horizon League Champion Youngstown State on Friday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team (10-1) made a statement, sweeping the defending Horizon League champion Youngstown State 7-0 on Friday afternoon at Miller Tennis Center.
The Bulls took the doubles point as Sarah Hartel and Julia Laspro cruised to a 6-2 win at third singles and Blanca Berges and Liv Roestel clinched the point with a hard-fought 7-5 victory at the second position to give UB a 1-0 lead in the match.
Roestel continued her strong play, winning 6-3, 6-0 at fifth singles, Esmee Andresen cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 victory at first singles and Laspro clinched the match for UB with a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles. Berges rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 win at six singles, Maria Glowacka defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-3 at second singles and Hartel rounded out the scoring for UB with a 6-4, 6-2 win at fourth singles.
Buffalo returns to action tomorrow against IUP at 1:30pm.
