Bulls Fall at Syracuse on Thursday

SYRACUSE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team (9-1) fell to Syracuse 6-1 at Drumlins Country Club on Thursday afternoon.
In doubles action, Blanca Berges and Liv Roestel turned in a great performance, winning 6-2 at second doubles to even the action at a match a piece, but the hosts clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at third doubles to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Roestel gave the Bulls their first point of the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win at fifth singles, but Syracuse clinched the match with a victory at six singles. After dropping her first set, Sarah Hartel battled back for a 7-6 tiebreak victory to force a 10-point tiebreak set, but she would come up short in the final set.
Buffalo will return home for a pair of matches this weekend beginning on Friday when they host Youngstown State at Miller Tennis Center at 1pm.
