
Bulls Picked Second in Preseason Coaches Poll

BUFFALO, NY – The reigning Mid-American Conference Champion University at Buffalo women's tennis team was picked second in the 2026 preseason poll. The poll, voted on by the conference's nine head coaches, was released by the league office on Thursday morning.
Head coach Kristen Maines' squad garnered 53 points and two first place votes, trailing only Toledo who received 58 and five, respectively. Conference newcomer Massachusetts was picked third, followed by Northern Illinois and Ball State. The Bulls also received three votes to capture the conference tournament championship.
UB, who went 4-0 in dual matches in the fall, returned six players – Esmee Andresen, Blanca Berges, Deanne Choo, Maria Glowacka, Julia Laspro, Liv Roestel - from last year's championship squad while adding two newcomers in Sarah Hartel and Sofia Zagumennova.
Buffalo opens the spring season on Friday, January 30 against Le Moyne.
