UB Bulls Introduce Clear Bag Policy for Stadium and Arena Events

BUFFALO, NY - In alignment with professional sports organizations across Buffalo and nationwide, the University at Buffalo Athletics Department is implementing a clear bag policy for all events at our stadiums and arenas for the 2025-26 seasons.
"Our goal is to enhance fan safety, streamline entry procedures and align with local expectations for large-scale sporting events," said D'Ann Keller, Deputy AD for Administration.
What's Allowed:
One clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"
One small clutch bag (non-clear) no larger than 7" x 5"
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (e.g., Ziploc) are also acceptable
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items, which will be subject to inspection at designated gates.
Why Now? The clear bag policy is a proactive step toward creating a safer and more efficient game-day experience. As seen at other NCAA institutions, this approach significantly reduces wait times at entry points and improves overall security screening. By adopting this standard, UB Athletics is prioritizing the well-being of our fans while maintaining consistency with local professional venues such as Highmark Stadium and KeyBank Center.
Get Game-Day Ready - To help fans prepare for the season, clear bags will be available for purchase at the UB Arena Store ahead of our first home game on September 6th. We encourage fans to stop by early and gear up to show their Bulls pride.
