BUFFALO, N.Y. — University at Buffalo Athletics is proud to announce a transformative $1.4 million bequest from Dr. Burt H. Rubin, Class of 1974. This generous commitment will provide future support for UB Athletics, ensuring continued growth and success for student-athletes across all programs.
Rubin's connection to UB Athletics began as a student with his affiliation with the varsity men's ice hockey team.
"UB Athletics has been an important part of my life since my college days," Rubin said. "I'm proud to give back to a program that gave me so much and to help ensure future generations of Bulls have the resources they need to succeed. I firmly believe that to be a top university, both a strong athletics department and strong academics are critical to enhancing our institution's profile."
Since graduating, Rubin has remained deeply engaged with UB Athletics. He has been an Athletics donor since 1982 and joined the 1958 Society in 2016, demonstrating his unwavering support for the Bulls and their mission to provide an exceptional student-athlete experience.
"We are incredibly grateful to Burt for his remarkable generosity and lifelong commitment to UB Athletics," said Mark Alnutt, UB Vice President and Director of Athletics. "This gift will have a lasting impact on our student-athletes and reinforces the strength of our alumni community."
This bequest underscores the critical role of philanthropy in shaping the future of Buffalo Athletics. Through gifts like Rubin's, UB can continue to invest in resources, facilities, and programs that elevate the Bulls on and off the field.
The SUNY Endowment Match Challenge offers a rare, time-limited opportunity to amplify the impact of your future gift to UB—without relinquishing your assets today.
