Lembo Announces Staff Updates

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo football head coach Pete Lembo has announced several updates to his staff.
Ian Fried has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Recruiting and Pro Liaison. Fried began his UB career as the program's Director of Recruiting in 2023. Prior to joining the UB staff, the Temple grad had stops at Western Michigan, Colgate, Army, Penn and USC.
Logan Newman has been promoted to Director of Scouting and On Campus Recruiting. He spent the previous two seasons as a recruiting and operations assistant, player personnel assistant and assistant director of player personnel. A graduate of Canisius University, Newman began his career as the assistant director of football operations at Hilbert College.
AJ Lembo has been hired as Director of Player Personnel. He comes to Buffalo following a stint as Director of Scouting at East Carolina. Lembo is a 2024 graduate of Texas Christian University where he worked with the football program in the recruiting and personnel departments. He assisted personnel and the coaching staff with the evaluation and analysis of high school and college prospects.
Isiah Batista has been hired as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. He most recently served as a sports performance coach at Athletes Acceleration in Massachusetts. A 2023 graduate of Rhode Island, he assisted the strength and conditioning staff at both Rhode Island and Brown.
Andrew Brush comes to UB as an assistant athletic trainer. He previously served as an assistant athletic trainer at SUNY Morrisville. Prior to joining the Mustangs, he spent four seasons in the National Football League, interning with the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. He earned a bachelors of science degree in biology from St. Lawrence University and a masters of science degree in training from UB.
