Former Bull Gerry Quinlivan Nominated for College Football Hall of Fame

<p><strong>BUFFALO, NY</strong> – Former University at Buffalo linebacker Gerry Quinlivan has been nominated for the College Football Hall of Fame, the National Football Foundation has announced. Quinlivan is one of 99 players from the divisional ranks to appear on the ballot.<br />
<br />
Quinlivan played for UB from 1981-84 when the Bulls were a Division III program. He was named first-team All-America in 1984. Over his 35-game career, Quinlivan had 248 tackles (107 solo), 16.5 tackles for loss, six fumble recoveries, eight interceptions and 16 pass breakups. He was a two-time first-team ECAC Upstate New York selection and team captain (1983-84).<br />

"Gerry Quinlivan is, without a doubt, the finest student-athlete to have played for UB in my 13 seasons here, including 1966-70 when we competed in NCAA University Division status," then head coach Bill Dando said in 1984. <br />

The ballot was emailed today to the more than 12,000 NFF members and current NFF Hall of Famers whose votes will be tabulated and submitted to the NFF Honors Court, which will deliberate and select the class. The announcement of the 2027 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class will be made in early 2027, with specific details to be announced in the future.<br />

The 2027 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class will be officially inducted during the 69th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas, and they will be honored at their respective schools with an NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute, presented by Fidelity Investments, during the 2027 season.<br />
