Bulls Clinch MAC Regular Season Championship with Win Over UIC

CHICAGO, IL – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team won the Mid-American Conference regular season title by defeating Illinois-Chicago, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon. It is the Bulls' first regular season conference title since 2017.
The Bulls got off to a great start by winning the doubles point as Daniils Snaiders and Cheng Tang cruised to a 6-1 win at first doubles and Emiliano Jorquera and Faiz Nasyam followed with a 6-1 win of their own at the third position to give the Bulls a 1-0 lead in the match.
Naysam won at the sixth court for the Bulls, 6-2, 6-1, to extend the lead. Theodoras Mitsakos swept at first singles with a 6-4, 6-4 victory to make it 3-0 Buffalo. Cheng Tang clinched the Bulls' regular season championship with a 6-3, 6-3 win. Snaiders won on the fourth court, 7-6, 6-3 to add to the Bulls win and make the final, 5-2.
Up next, Buffalo will return home to close out the regular season as they host Toledo on Saturday, April 12 on Senior Day at Miller Tennis Center at 1pm.
