Bulls Take on Ball State in MAC Tournament Semifinals

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's tennis team (16-5, 9-1 MAC) heads to Kalamazoo this weekend for the 2025 Mid-American Conference Tournament.
The Bulls enter the tournament as the top seed and will take on #4 Ball State in the first semifinal match of the day on Saturday at 10am. The hosts, #3 Western Michigan, will face #2 UIC in the second semifinal match of the day at 2pm.
Saturday's semifinal winners will play for the championship match on Sunday at 1pm, with the winner receiving the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Buffalo ended the regular season with a 16-5 overall record and a 9-1 mark in league play and swept their regular season matchups with the Cardinals. UB has presented a balanced attack in singles action with six players recording double-digit win totals on the season, led by junior Faiz Nasyam who has 23 and senior Cheng Tang who has recorded 17 wins. Fellow senior Daniils Snaiders (16), Theodoros Mitsakos (16), sophomore Michael Malkin (15) and senior Clement Mainguy (14) have also reached double digit wins. In doubles play, the Bulls have been led by Mitsakos and Mainguy who own a team-best 10 doubles victories and Nasyam and Emiliano Jorquera who are a perfect 8-0 when paired together.
Ball State enters the weekend with an 11-10 overall record and a 4-6 mark in league play. They defeated Northern Illinois before falling to UIC in the regular season finale last weekend. The Cardinals are led by Jacks Lancaster and Mason Tran who have recorded 12 singles victories each. They are balanced in doubles action as they have used 18 different doubles pairings, led by Lancaster and Tran who own a 7-4 record as a duo.
