Bulls Complete Weekend Sweep with 6-1 Win at Ball State

MUNCIE, IN – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team (9-4, 2-0 MAC) defeated Ball State 6-1 on Sunday afternoon to improve to 2-0 in MAC play.
The Bulls took the doubles point once again as Theodoros Mitsakos and Clement Mainguy won 6-2 at second doubles and Michael Malkin and Emiliano Jorquera picked up a 6-3 victory at the third position.
Senior Faiz Nasyam earned the first point in singles action as he cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at sixth singles. Fellow senior Cheng Tang picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at second singles and Daniils Snaiders clinched the match for UB with a 6-3, 6-3 victory of his own at the fourth position. Clement Mainguy continued his winning ways as he battled to a 7-6, 6-3 win at third singles and Mitsakos capped the afternoon with a 7-5, 5-7, 10-5.
"We are very proud of our guys for bringing good energy after such an emotional match on Friday," says head coach Lee Nickell. "It's not easy getting wins on the road. We are pleased with how we are performing but we know we have a lot of work ahead next week."
Up next, Buffalo will continue MAC play at Toledo on Saturday, March 15 at 1pm.
