Bulls Fall at Toledo on Saturday

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team (9-5, 2-1 MAC) saw a late rally come up short as they fell to the defending MAC champion Toledo Rockets 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at Shadow Valley Tennis Center.
The Rockets got on the board first as they earned a hard-fought tiebreak victory at first doubles to clinch the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Toledo then picked up wins at second and sixth singles to go up 3-0 before the Bulls clawed back as Theodoros Mitsakos earned a hard-fought 7-6, 6-4 victory at first singles and Michael Malkin overcame a dropped second set to win 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 at the fourth position to cut the lead to one.
Buffalo then evened the match as Faiz Nasyam picked up a three-set victory of his own, winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 at fifth singles. The match then came down to third singles, where senior Daniils Snaiders fell in three sets 7-6, 3-6, 5-7.
Up next, Buffalo will continue MAC play with a pair of home matches, beginning on Thursday, March 20 against Northern Illinois at 1pm.
