BUFFALO, NY – Linebacker Red Murdock and punt returner Victor Snow were named the Mid-American Conference Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, the league announced on Monday. Both played key roles in the Bulls' win at Bowling Green on Saturday.
Murdock had a game-high 13 tackles and added 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack in Buffalo's win over Bowling Green. He also had a forced fumble that the Bulls recovered, leading to a touchdown in the final seconds of the first half. It was Murdock's 17th career forced fumble giving him the all-time NCAA record for career forced fumbles.
It is the second time this season Murdock has won the award.
Snow, who was named Co-Special Teams Player of the Week with Western Michigan kicker Palmer Domschke, returned a punt for a touchdown to help Buffalo defeat Bowling Green, 28-3. With the Bulls leading 21-0, Snow's 65-yard touchdown early in the third quarter, put the game away for UB. It was the first punt return for a touchdown by a UB player in 10 years.
It was the first time Snow was named MAC Special Teams Player of the Week. He was named MAC Offensive Player of the Week following UB's win over Eastern Michigan.
