After the Bulls took a 3-0 lead on a Jack Howes field goal, Miami rattled off 17 straight points to take a 17-3 lead late in the second quarter. Buffalo was able to drive the length of the field and Ta'Quan Roberson found Victor Snow in the corner of the endzone, with just 13 seconds left in the half, to cut the lead to 17-10 at the break.
Buffalo drove right down the field on just six plays, on its first possession of the second half, and tied the game, 17-17, when Roberson found Jasaiah Gathings for a 10-yard touchdown.
On Miami's ensuing possession, the Bulls defense stepped up and got a fourth-down stop to regain possession near midfield. UB capitalized with a 47-yard field goal by Howes to take a 20-17 lead with 6:50 left in the third quarter, capping a 17-0 run of its own.
Unfortunately, on the RedHawks first play of their next possession, they ripped off a 60-yard run and it sparked 20-straight points allowing Miami to pull away for the victory.
Snow and Nik McMillan each had one of the best games of their careers. Snow had a career-high nine receptions for 111 yards and a score. McMillan had eight catches for a career-high 147 yards. It was McMillan's fifth-straight 100-yard receiving game, becoming the first Bull since Naaman Roosevelt in 2008 to accomplish the feat.
Roberson finished with 303 passing yards, his third 300-yard game this season.
Linebacker Red Murdock led the defense with 14 tackles. He moved into ninth in program history with 350 career tackles. Fellow linebacker Dion Crawford was back in the lineup and had eight tackles for the Bulls.
The Bulls will close of the regular season next Friday when they host Ohio at UB Stadium.
