Bulls Sweep Duquesne 7-0 on Friday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team defeated Duquesne 7-0 in their spring home opener at Miller Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
The Bulls took the doubles point as Michael Malkin and Yu-Shiang Huang cruised to a 6-0 win at the first position and Cheng Tang and Daniils Snaiders followed with a 6-3 win at second doubles.
Junior Theodoros Mitsakos gave the Bulls their first singles point with a 6-2, 6-4 win at first singles. Senior Clement Mainguy battled to a hard-fought 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 win at the third position and Tang also picked up a three-set victory, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4, at the second position to clinch the match. Huang then cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win at fifth singles before Emiliano Jorquera battled back 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 victory at the fourth position. Junior Faiz Nasyam won his first set, 6-1 before the match was halted.
Up next, Buffalo heads to Connecticut for a pair of matches, beginning on Saturday as they take on Yale at 4pm.
