Bulls Fall to Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (5-11, 0-4 MAC) lost to the Bowling Green Falcons (7-9, 2-2 MAC) on Tuesday evening, 79-61.
It was a slow first half for both squads in the Stroh Center as each team made just 8 baskets apiece in the first half of MACtion. After being tied at 28, the Falcons closed the half on a 4-0 run with a pair of free throws and a layup before the halftime horn to take a 32-28 lead into the locker room.
Bowling Green's run overlapped into the second half as they started the half with a 7-0 run to extend their lead to 39-28. After calling a timeout, the Bulls cut the lead to 6 after a Ben Michaels layup and Noah Batchelor three-pointer. Bowling Green recaptured a double-digit lead to hold off the Bulls. The Bulls fought to the end as they forced 10 turnovers and 5 blocks. This was the fifth time this season they finished with 5 or more blocks in a game.
Ben Michaels led the Bulls with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Noah Batchelor knocked down 3 three-pointers for the third time this season as he tallied 11 points and 6 rebounds. Ryan Sabol had his 14th game of the season with at least 10 points as he added 2 steals. In his career, Sabol surpassed the 500-point mark as he is now up to 508 points. Kavon Bradford tied his career-high in assists with 4. Omar Migues-Hibeljic drained his first career three-pointer late in the second half.
The Bulls are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 18th as they travel to Western Michigan. The game will tip-off at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
