Dorsett Climbs Program Ranks As Bulls Sweep Diving Events Again

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo diving team hosted day two of the annual UB Diving Invite on Saturday, with Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Akron and Duquesne traveling to compete against the Bulls. Buffalo swept both one-meter and team diving, winning all three competitions this weekend so far.
ONE-METER DIVING
After winning the three-meter diving event with a school record score on Friday, Marialis Kwak doubled back on Saturday to win the one-meter finals with a score of 286.50. The senior has now won all ten individual diving competitions she's competed in this season.
Presley Dorsett finished second in the finals with a score of 269.70, as Sophie Meuwissen finished fifth with a score of 255.95. Mallory Hanna (6th, 253.70), Daphne Fox (9th, 235.50) and Kaylee Donovan (9th, 229.45) all finished inside the top 10 too.
Kwak took first place in the preliminary round too with a score of 302.05. Dorsett trailed to finish second with a score of 299.60.
Dorsett's preliminary round score of 299.60 is a new personal record that ranks fifth all-time in program history. Dorsett's previous record of 287.55 ranked seventh. The senior jumped Louise Bradley (291.07, 2021) and Patricia Arceri (292.13, 2022) in the program ranks.
Hanna finished fifth with a score of 257.85, as Meuwissen (7th, 254.95) and Fox (9th, 237.45) also placed inside the top ten in the preliminary round. Donovan took 12th with a score of 225.10 to put six Buffalo divers in the finals, taking half of the 12 finals spots. Maggie Meyers missed the cut by a slim margin, finishing 14th with a score of 222.0.
TEAM DIVING
The Bulls won the team diving event with a team of Kwak, Dorsett and Donovan finishing first with a score of 255.80. The Bulls' also had a team of Meyers, Fox and Hanna compete, taking third with a score of 233.95 to give Buffalo two of three podium spots.

The UB Diving Invite concludes on Sunday at 10:30 am with platform diving.
With the dive team at home, the Bulls' swimmers headed to Duquesne to compete against the Dukes in a head-to-head, swimming only meet. All information regarding that meet can be found here.
