Kwak Breaks Three-Meter School Record on Day One of UB Diving Invite

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo diving team hosted day one of the annual UB Diving Invite on Friday morning, with Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Akron and Duquesne traveling to compete against the Bulls.
Senior diver Marialis Kwak broke the school record in the event, winning the three-meter finals with a score of 363.05. Kwak has now won all nine individual diving competitions she has competed in this season. The senior's record-breaking performance surpassed Victoria Franz's score 359.10, set in 2023.
Kaylee Donovan finished second to Kwak in the finals with a personal record of 300.40. The senior's new record ranks ninth all-time in program history, breaking her previous mark of 295.13.
Presley Dorsett finished third with a season-best score of 285.70, giving all three podium spots to the Bulls. Mallory Hanna (7th, 252.30) and Sophie Meuwissen (11th, 226.80) also competed in the finals, putting five Buffalo divers inside the top 12.
In the preliminary round of the three-meter, Kwak led all 30 divers with a score of 298.85. Hanna finished second to Kwak with a score of 276.30, with Donovan in fourth (258.75) to put three Buffalo divers inside the top five in the preliminary round. Dorsett (8th, 244.10) and Meuwissen (9th, 243.15) finished inside the top ten too. Maggie Meyers (17th, 221.40) and Daphne Fox (21st, 203.95) also competed for the Bulls.

The Bulls will continue with day two of the UB Diving Invite on Saturday at 11 am. The teams will compete in one-meter and team diving. All information regarding the UB Diving Invite can be found here.
The UB swim team will hit the road on Saturday to compete at Duquesne at 11 am, in a head-to-head swim only meet. A full schedule for UB Swimming and Diving can be accessed here. The Bulls will host MAC Championships from February 26th through March 1st in the Alumni Arena Natatorium.
