Bulls Host the Bobcats on CBSSN for Tuesday Night #MACtion

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (4-25, 2-14 MAC) will host the Ohio Bobcats (17-12, 11-5 MAC) with a nationally broadcasted contest on Tuesday evening. The game can be seen on CBSSN at 7 p.m. Over on the Varsity Network App and on 1520 Buffalo/1280 Rochester AM, Josh Whetzel and Bob Gaughan will be on the call.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls are coming off an 85-79 homes loss to the Toledo Rockets on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls had four players reach double figures scoring. The offensive attack was led by Sy Chatman as recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds, both of which were game highs. Isaiah Adams went into the game needing four points to reach 1,000 career points. Adams did it with ease as he scored 19 on the day and added seven boards and five assists. Shawn Fulcher scored 11 while distributing the ball well for four assists. Zaakir Williamson stayed hot as he put in 10 points of his own going 5-for-6 from the floor. Bryson Wilson added seven points off the bench.

ABOUT THE SERIES
The Bulls trail all-time series against the Bobcats, 18-39 (.316). In just conference play, The Bobcats hold the lead, 32-16. Ohio took down the Bulls on Jan. 30 in Athens, 91-70. With a won over the Bobcats, the Bulls will have beaten Ohio at home in back-to-back seasons.

• The Bulls' 11 blocks against the Toledo Rockets on Saturday were their most in a game since they had 10 at Butler this season on Dec. 5.

• Sy Chatman has scored in double figures in all but two game this season for the Bulls. His 18.4 points per game is good for fifth in the MAC and 66th in the NCAA. The fifth year forward has also averages 6.4 rebounds per game which is eighth in the MAC. During MAC play, Chatman's 18.6 points per game is sixth.

• Jonnivius Smith leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game, which ranks 60th in the NCAA and third in the MAC. Smith's 8.6 rebounds per game in MAC play is third behind Rashaun Agee (Bowling Green, 11.1) and Enrique Freeman (Akron, 12.6).

• Sy Chatman has scored 15+ in 21 of the 29 games this season, including 14 games of 20+. With 533 points on the season, he's fifth in the MAC in total points and 62nd in the NCAA.

• Sitting with 968 points, Sy Chatman need 32 points in the final two games of the season to reach 1,000 career points.

• Isaiah Adams is averaging a team-high 3.6 assists on the season, good for fifth in the MAC. Shawn Fulcher is averaging 3.0 assister per game, which is ninth in the MAC.

• Shawn Fulcher's 1.34 assist-to-turnover ratio are a team-best with Isaiah Adams having a 1.16 ratio.

• Freshman Ryan Sabol leads the team with 55 made three-pointers on the season. He ranks ninth in the MAC in three-pointers made and is just one of two freshmen to be in the top-10 of the MAC.

• Sy Chatman and Jonnivius Smith are the only duo in the MAC to each have at least seven double-doubles.

• Jonnivius Smith is the first Bull to have eight double-doubles in a season since Josh Mballa's nine in 2021-22.

• Buffalo's 4.6 blocks per game is second in the MAC and 55th in the nation.

• With 238 rebounds, Jonnivius Smith needs two rebounds to tie Josh Mballa (2021-22) and Blake Hamilton (2015-16) for 10th all-time in the program's Modern Era rebounds in a single season (since 1991-92). Darcel Williams (2001-02) is eighth with 241 and Kelvin Robinson (1994-95) sits at seventh with 244. Jonnivius Smith is 12 rebounds away from becoming just the sixth Bull to reach 250 rebounds in a season in Buffalo's Modern Era. Josh Mballa was the last Bull to reach 250+ rebounds in a season when he finished with the Modern Era record of 308 in the 2019-20 season.

• Sy Chatman needs 21 points to tie Wall of Famer Rasaun Young's 1997-98 and Jeenathan Williams (2021-22) point total for 10th all-time in a single season with 554.

• Sy Chatman's 193 made FGs this season are tied with John Blalock (1991-92) for 10th all-time in program history.

• Sy Chatman is up to 46 blocks on the season which ranks eighth in Buffalo's Modern Era.

• As a team, the Bulls are up to 134 blocks on the season. They're creeping towards the 10th most in program history with 137 from the 2013-14 squad.

• As it stands, the Bulls' .720 free throw percentage is third all-time in program history.
