Bulls Sweep Saturday Action

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team swept both of their matches at Miller Tennis Center on Saturday, defeating Oakland 6-1 before sweeping Siena 7-0. With the victories, the Bulls improve to 7-1 on the season.
In the morning match, the Bulls got off to a great start as Ambre Amat and Esmee Andresen cruised to a 6-1 win at first doubles and Lolina Schietekat Sedas and Deanne Choo picked up a 6-3 win at second third doubles before Mariana Carvajal Torres and Laura Koralnik completed the sweep with a 6-4 win at the second position to give Buffalo a 1-0 lead in the match.
Andresen continued her stellar play in singles action as she cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at the fifth position and Carvajal Torres also dominated in a 6-2, 6-0 win at sixth singles to put UB up 3-0. Kaur picked up a 6-1, 6-3 at second singles and Amat followed with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at the fourth position to put UB up 5-0. Koralnik finished off singles action with a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6(3) at third singles.
In the evening match against Siena, Buffalo got off to a strong start, once again winning the doubles point as Comlek and Kaur cruised to a 6-1 win at second doubles and Carvajal Torres and Koralnik picked up their second doubles victory of the day with a 6-2 win at the third position.
The Bulls then rolled through singles action, winning every match in straight sets. Kaur won at one 6-3, 6-2, Comlek had a 6-4, 6-4 win at two and Koralnik dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at three. Andresen won 6-2, 6-3 at four while Amat picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win at five. Choo completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-0 win at the sixth position.
Buffalo returns to action on Friday, February 9 as they host Youngstown State at Miller Tennis Center at 1pm.
