Bulls and Huskies Clash for Lone Tuesday Evening MAC Game

DEKALB, Ill. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (3-20, 1-9 MAC) are back to #MACtion and will play the Northern Illinois Huskies (8-15, 2-8 MAC) on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. ET. The matchup between the Bulls and Huskies can be seen on ESPN+. Over on the Varsity Network App and on 1520 Buffalo/1280 Rochester AM, Josh Whetzel will be on the call.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls are coming off an 82-81 overtime road victory over the Georgia Southern Eagles on Saturday afternoon. Sy Chatman surged the Bulls to victory with a 23-point and 12-rebound double-double, his fifth double-double on the season. Isaiah Adams led the team with 24 points and seven assists. This was Adams' sixth game on the season where he finished with five or more assists. Zaakir Williamson was the only other Bull to finish in double figures scoring, finishing with 10 points.

ABOUT THE SERIES
The Bulls lead all-time series against the Northern Illinois Huskies, 25-16. Buffalo has won the last five meetings including a season sweep a year ago. The last time in DeKalb, the Bulls clinched a spot in the MAC Tournament with an 85-75 win on Feb. 28, 2023. Overall, Buffalo is 22-9 in MAC play against the Huskies.

BULL-ETIN BOARD
• In Saturday's win over Georgia Southern, Sy Chatman played all 45 minutes of the game. He became the first Bull since March 14, 2013, to play every minute as Tony Watson and Jarryn Skeete did so against Kent State in the MAC Tournament.

• Freshman Ryan Sabol leads the team with 46 made three-pointers on the season. He ranks eighth in the MAC in three-pointers made. Sabol became the first Buffalo freshman to score seven threes in a single game on Feb. 6 at Bowling Green. This performance puts him tied for 10th for most threes in a game in program history.

• Buffalo will close out their three-game road trip on Tuesday at Northern Illinois. The Bulls will also finish a stretch in their schedule where seven of nine games were on the road.

• The Bulls vs. the Huskies will be the only game in the MAC on Tuesday.

• Tuesday's game against the Huskies will mark Isaiah Adams' 100^th career collegiate game.

• Sy Chatman has scored 20+ in 10 of the last 16 games. Over the course of those games, he's averaged 19.31 points per game including four double-doubles.

• Isaiah Adams is 63 points shy from scoring 1,000 career points. Over the last two seasons at Buffalo, he's totaled 610 points, good for 12.2 points per game.

• Isaiah Adams is averaging a team-high 3.7 assists on the season, good for fifth in the MAC. His 1.18 assists-to-turnover ratio is ninth in the MAC.

• Sy Chatman and Jonnivius Smith are the only duo in the MAC to each have at least five double-doubles.

• Sy Chatman has scored in double figures in all but one game this season for the Bulls. His 18.0 points per game is good for sixth in the MAC and 85^th in the NCAA. The fifth year forward has also averages 6.5 rebounds per game which is eighth in the MAC. During MAC play, Chatman's 17.9 points per game is sixth.

• Jonnivius Smith leads the team with 8.7 rebounds per game, which ranks 56^th in the NCAA and third in the MAC behind Akron's Enrique Freeman (12.8). Smith's 9.1 rebounds per game in MAC play is third behind Rashaun Agee (Bowling Green, 10.6) and Enrique Freeman (Akron, 12.5).

• Buffalo's 4.6 blocks per game is second in the MAC and 50^th in the nation.

• Buffalo is 3-0 when they shoot 50% or better from the floor this season.
