Bulls Defeat Mercyhurst 7-0 to Complete Weekend Sweep

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team defeated Mercyhurst 7-0 to complete the weekend sweep at Miller Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. With the win the Bulls improve to 9-1 on the season.
The Bulls got off to a great start once again, sweeping the doubles point as Ambre Amat and Esmee Andresen won 6-1 at first doubles, Azra Deniz Comlek and Laura Koralnik cruised to a 6-1 win at the second position and Lolina Schietekat Sedas and Mariana Carvajal Torres picked up a 6-2 victory at third doubles.
Koralnik recorded UB's first singles point with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the second position. Amat also cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fourth singles before Deanne Choo clinched the match for the Bulls with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the sixth position. Carvajal Torres won 6-2, 6-2 at fifth, Comlek added a 6-4, 6-1 at first singles and Andresen completed the sweep with a hard-fought 4-6, 6-0, 10-7 victory at third singles.
Buffalo returns to action on Friday, February 16 as they host Duquesne and Niagara in a doubleheader at Miller Tennis Center beginning at 11am.
