Bulls Sweep Friday Doubleheader

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team swept both of their matches at Miller Tennis Center on Friday, defeating Duquesne and Niagara by a score of 7-0. With the victories, the Bulls improve to 11-1 on the season.
In the morning match, the Bulls got off to a great start as Deanne Choo and Jagmeet Kaur cruised to a 6-0 win at third doubles and Azra Deniz Comlek and Laura Koralnik picked up a 6-3 win at the second position before Ambre Amat and Esmee Andresen completed the sweep with a 7-5 win at first doubles to give Buffalo a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Bulls then rolled through singles action, winning every match in straight sets. Comlek battled to a 7-6, 7-5 win at first singles, Kaur had a 6-0, 6-4 win at two and Koralnik continued her steady play with a 6-2, 6-0 win at three. Amat won 6-2, 6-1 at four while Andresen cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at five. Choo completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-1 win at sixth singles.
It was more of the same in the evening match against Niagara as the Bulls took the doubles point with all three UB pairings picking up wins to put Buffalo up 1-0.
It was another solid performance in singles action as the Bulls once again took every match in straight sets. Comlek won 6-3, 6-2 at first singles, Koralnik cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at two and Andrsen won 6-2, 7-5 at three. Amat won 6-3, 6-1 at four while Mariana Carvajal Torres picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at five and Choo completed the sweep once again with a 6-1, 6-1 win at six.
Up next, Buffalo will head on their spring training trip to Florida for a pair of matches beginning on Friday, February 23 at Hillsborough.
