Bulls Travel to St. Bonaventure for Saturday Clash

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (5-4, 0-0 MAC) will travel to Olean, N.Y. to face Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure Bonnies (7-1, 0-0 A10). The action can be seen on ESPN+ with Josh Whetzel on the radio call on the Varsity Network or on the radio on Buffalo 1400/Rochester 1280.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls are coming off a 100-65 win over the Pitt-Bradford Panthers on Tuesday evening. Anquan Boldin Jr. had a game-high 19 points with an efficient night from the floor. He shot 7-for-8 including knocking down a pair of three-pointers. Ryan Sabol continues to score in double figures as he scored 18 points. Tyson Dunn scored 14 points as Brayden Jackson and Bryson Wilson scored 11 and 10, respectively. It was the second time this season the Bulls had five players score in double figures. Jackson grabbed a career-high 6 rebounds as Noah Batchelor led all players with 9 rebounds and 2 blocks.
ABOUT THE SERIES
This will be the 19th all-time meeting between the Bulls and Bonnies. The Bonnies lead the all-time series, 12-6. St. Bonaventure won last year's clash in Alumni Arena, 80-65. The last time the Bulls made their way down to Olean came on Dec. 4, 2021, where the Bulls fell, 68-65.

He is climbing the all-time made three-pointers list as Sean Smiley (2005-10) is 10th in program history with 132 made threes. With 4 made threes at St. Bonaventure, Sabol would become the fastest Bull in program history to reach 100 career threes passing Zach Filzen (2009-12) who did it in 45 games.
This season, Sabol has made at least 3 three-pointers in eight straight games. He has made a three in 15 straight games dating back to last season. The last time he failed to make a three was against Akron on Feb. 17, 2024, when he went 0-for-5.
Sabol has made a conference-high 34 three-pointers on the season that ranks him fourth in the country. His 3.78 three-pointers per game is seventh in the nation and first in the MAC. He is shooting 45.9% from deep on the season, good for 44th in college basketball and second in the MAC behind Juanse Gorosito's 46.8% from Ball State.
Sabol has scored a team-high 167 points on the season, good for the top mark in the conference and 39th in the nation. His 18.6 points per game leads the MAC and is 59th in the country.
Dunn's 55 total assists is 13th in the country and first in the MAC. His 6.1 assists per game is 18th in all of college basketball.
Sabol has gone 33-for-35 from the free throw line, good for 94.3%. His free throw percentage is 20th in the country and second in the MAC.
The Bulls are 5-0 on the season when they score at least 80 points.
Buffalo's offense is averaging 78.4 points per game, the second-best mark in the MAC behind Akron's 83.6.
