Bulls Host the North Carolina A&T Aggies on Monday Evening

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (3-3, 0-0 MAC) will host the North Carolina A&T Aggies (3-2, 0-0 CAA) on Monday evening at 7 p.m. The action can be seen on ESPN+ with tip-off at 7 p.m. with Brian Koziol and Wall of Famer Turner Battle will be on the call. Josh Whetzel can be heard on the Varsity Network or on the radio on Buffalo 1520/Rochester 1280.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls are coming off an 82-73 victory over the Morgan State Bears on Friday. The win marked the program's 500th win in their Modern Era since returning to Division I in 1991. Tyson Dunn led the team in points (22), rebounds (6), assists (8), steals (4) and blocks (1). This was the second time on the season he led the Bulls in points, rebounds, and assists. The last Bull to lead the team in those categories headed into the season was Jeenathan Williams on Jan. 21, 2022, Dunn has done it twice thus far.
Freshman Brayden Jackson had a breakout performance for the Bulls against Morgan State as he scored a career-high 18 points going 8-for-11 from the floor. He added 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 1 steal against the Bears. Ryan Sabol scored 12 points while shooting 3-for-4 from beyond the arc.
ABOUT THE SERIES
This will be the second all-time meeting between the Bulls and Aggies. The only other time they met was on Nov. 21, 2015, at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic in Uncasville, Conn. The Bulls won, 86-68, behind Rodell Wigginton's 19 points. Jarryn Skeete scored 18 points as CJ Massinburg, Lamonte Bearden and Willie Conner also scored in double figures.
The Bulls are 22-12 (.647) all-time against teams from the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). Buffalo last played a CAA opponent on Nov. 2023, against the Hofstra Pride at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Fort Myers, Fla.
THE BULL-ETIN BOARD
Buffalo scored 52 points in the paint against Morgan State. The last time they scored 50 in the paint was on Feb. 10, 2024, in an overtime win at Georgia Southern. The last time they scored 50+ in the paint against a Division I team in regulation was against Bowling Green on Jan. 17, 2023, when they scored 58 points.
In the Bulls' win against Morgan State, there were 25 lead changes. Prior to the game, the Bulls had 21 lead changes on the season.
With a win over North Carolina A&T on Monday, the Bulls would win the Buffalo Classic.
Sabol has made a conference-high 22 three-pointers on the season that ranks him seventh in the country. His 3.67 three-pointers per game is 23rd in the country and first in the MAC. He is shooting 47.8% from deep on the season, good for 61st in the college basketball and third in the MAC.
Sabol has scored a team-high 108 points on the season. His 18.0 points per game is third in the conference.
Dunn's 42 total assists is seventh in the country and first in the MAC. His 7.0 assists per game is 13th in all of college basketball.
The Bulls are showing off their depth off the bench as they're averaging 26.33 points per game off the bench.
The Bulls are 2-8 (.200) in games played on Nov. 25th in the program's history. Buffalo's last win on this date came against Jackson State at the Las Vegas Holiday Shootout in a 71-65 decision in 2005.
