
Three Bulls Earn All-MAC Volleyball Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the 2024 All-MAC awards on Wednesday afternoon. Of all the honors, three Bulls earned All-MAC recognition this year. Katrin Trebichavska and Abby Leigh took home First Team honors with Mandy Leigh earning Second Team honors.
This marked the third straight season the Bulls took home at least three postseason awards. In his tenure at Buffalo, Head Coach Scott Smith has helped the program earn 23 All-MAC honors since 2015.
Katrin Trebichavska, Fifth Year, Outside Hitter – All-MAC First Team
Katrin Trebichavska led the conference in both kills and points per set. Her 4.65 points per set was more than a quarter point higher than the next best. She finished with 3.99 kills per set. She also finished third in aces per set with 0.45. The fifth year outside hitter was just one of three players to have at least 30 aces in conference play. In total she finished MAC play with 267 kills, 30 aces, 24 blocks and 311.5 points. On the season, Trebichavska passed the 1,000 career kill mark in her time at Buffalo. She's currently sixth in program history with 1,094 kills, seventh in aces with 176, third in points with 1,336.0 and in second in points per set at 4.10. This was Trebichavska's second First-Team All-MAC honor as she also earned it last season.
Abby Leigh, Sixth Year, Middle Blocker – All-MAC First Team
Abby Leigh finished top-10 in the MAC in five categories. She was third in hitting percentage at .382. The sixth year was fourth in aces per set at 0.40 as she had 26 in total. The middle blocker was sixth in blocks per set at 1.17, but was fourth in total blocks with 76. Her 3.88 points per set were good for seventh overall. In total she finished with 252.0 points that's good for fifth. Throughout A. Leigh's career at Buffalo, she's ninth in career kills with 1,063, sixth in hitting percentage at .314, fifth in total blocks with 452, second in points with 1,510.0 and holds the program record for most sets played with 529. This was A. Leigh's third All-MAC honor and her second First-Team award as she took home the honors last season, as well.
Mandy Leigh, Senior, Setter – All-MAC Second Team
Mandy Leigh racked up 684 assists in conference play. The school record holder in career assists finished with 10.21 assists per set that was good for fourth in the MAC. She added 1.01 kills per set, 0.19 aces per set, 2.60 digs per set, 0.51 blocks per set and 1.51 points per set. On the attack she had a hitting percentage of .412. M. Leigh earned her third All-MAC honor of her storied career at Buffalo. She will go down as the best setter in program history as she has a program record 15 MAC Setter of the Week honors to go with her program record for assists. M. Leigh is ninth in program history in career digs with 1,173 and is now in the top-10 in sets played with 458.
"Abby, Katrin and Mandy have meant so much to our team and program, so it is great to see them recognized by the coaches in the Mid-American Conference," stated Smith. "As captains they continue to lead by example and have truly raised the level of Buffalo Volleyball during their time here."
