Cross Country Student-Athletes Participate in Rock The Runway Event

BUFFALO, NY β On September 22nd, six members of the Buffalo cross country team participated in "Rock The Runway", a charitable event benefiting Fantastic Friends of Western New York. The fifth annual fashion show was held at Forbes Theatre in Downtown Buffalo, with the proceeds of the event providing support and experiences for individuals with special needs and their families.
Jacob Brink, Kaitlyn Edinger, Lauren O'Rourke, Fernando Sanchez, Chris Turner and Reese Wilber all participated as escorts for the models, who dressed in gear to represent their favorite professional sports teams.
"Chris Bossert, who graduated from UB in '98 and was a member of the track and field and cross country teams, reached out to our team about the event. Our student athletes jumped at the chance to participate and had an amazing time," said coach Vicki Mitchell.
