Bulls Defeat Bowling Green 5-2 on Friday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team defeated Bowling Green 5-2 at the Perrysburg Tennis Center on Friday afternoon. With the win, the Bulls improve to 18-5 overall and 4-2 in MAC play.
The Bulls started strong, winning the crucial doubles point as Gabriella Akopyan and Lolina Schietekat Sedas won 6-3 at second singles and Ambre Amat and Deanne Choo followed with a 6-3 win of their own at third doubles.
UB continued their strong play in singles action, taking four of six matches in straight sets. Basak Akbas picked up her fifth win in league play, with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at third singles and Amat picked up a 6-1, 7-6 win at fourth singles. Akopyan played one of her better matches of league play, winning 6-2, 6-0 at fifth singles and Mariana Carvajal Torres picked up a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the sixth position.
The Bulls return to action on Friday, April 14 at Western Michigan.
