
The Bulls Travel to South Carolina for PC Invitational

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (3-10, 0-0 MAC) is set to play their first games in the month of March on Friday. The Bulls will participate at the Presbyterian College Invitational in South Carolina. The tournament will be co-hosted by Norfolk State and Hampton.
Buffalo enters the weekend with a 3-10 record. The Bulls are being led offensively by senior Alexis Lucyshyn, who is batting .293 with 12 hits. She's also added a team-high five RBIs and slugging percentage of .463. Sara Kelly leads the Bulls in on base percentage at .385.
In the circle, Lucyshyn is 3-3 with a 2.86 ERA as she has struck out 42 batters in 36.2 innings pitched. She struck out 14 batters against Norfolk State last weekend, setting a career high. Fellow pitcher Julia Tarantino has pitched 34.1 innings.
The Bulls will open the tournament with a double-header on Friday morning at 10 a.m. against Presbyterian (13-2, 0-0 Big South). The Blue Hose enter the weekend with a 13-2 record as won three games last weekend at the Stetson Invitational. Kendall Owens leads the Blue Hose offensively with a .425 batting average. Morgan Hess has a team-high five home runs on the season. Peyton Duncan is the team's top pitcher with a 0.62 ERA through 22.2 innings. As a team, they hold a 1.26 ERA.
UB will then play Queens University of Charlotte (6-6, 0-0 ASun) on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. The Royals are 662 on the season. Queens University of Charlotte is led by Haley Hmeil as she has a .393 batting average and five RBIs. Kayla Smith leads the team with a .559 on base percentage. The pitching staff has had a great season as they've combined for a 3.59 ERA and striking out 62.
The games against Presbyterian College will be streamed on ESPN+.
