Bulls Drop 4-3 Decision at Northern Illinois to Open MAC Play

DEKALB, Ill. – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision at Northern Illinois in its Mid-American Conference opener on Friday afternoon.
Buffalo took the lead early, scoring the opening point in doubles. Simon Wibler and Finn Macnamara came away with a 6-3 win at first doubles, while Greg Hastings and Daniils Snaiders won third doubles, 7-5.
The Bulls won a pair of singles matches as Theodoros Mitsakos won 6-4, 6-4 at fourth doubles and Snaiders followed with a 7-5, 6-3 victory at sixth singles, but the Huskies then won the final four matches of the day to complete the comeback victory.
Buffalo concludes weekend play at Western Michigan on Sunday at 1pm.
