
Bulls Complete Regular Season at Al Campbell Invite

AKRON, Ohio - The University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams competed in their final tune-up for the MAC Championship at the Al Campbell Invite hosted by Akron University on Friday evening.
Fernando Sanchez ran a personal best of 49.45 to win the 400 meters. Evan Hilbert placed 2nd in the Mile with his time of 4:08.80. Evan goes into the conference championship ranked 5th in the MAC with his school record of 4:05.78 from earlier this season. Freshman Michael Parks earned a victory in the 60m Hurdles with a personal best of 8.14. His time ranks him #7 in the MAC, and moved him to #8 on the All-Time Top 10 list for the program. This was Michael's first competition for the Bulls since his opener in December.
The Buffalo 4x400m squad of Patrick Ames, Julian Smith, Hans Matzal, and Fernando Sanchez placed 2nd with a time of 3:23.89. Jon Surdej and Mark Pryzbocki placed 3rd and 4th in the Shot Put. Surdej's mark of 17.06 is a season's best that has him ranked 2nd in the MAC heading into the Championship.
On the women's side, Teasha McKoy won the Shot Put and placed 2nd in the Weight Throw. Imahni Sinclair placed 3rd in the Weight Throw. Travasia Singletary placed 4th in the finals of the 60m with a season's best of 7.87. Lydia Lanski placed 4th in the 60m Hurdles, running a personal best time of 8.98 in the preliminary round.
The women's middle distance program had a strong performance at the meet with many personal bests. Lauren O'Rourke ran a best time of 2:22.07 in the 800m. In the 1500m, Allison Newton, Bronagh Cassidy, and Alyssa Rotondo all ran career bests to place 5th, 6th, and 8th in the meet. In the women's 3000m, freshman Anna Recktenwalt had a strong race in the 3000m with a collegiate best mark.
