Bulls Host Big 4 Rival St. Bonaventure on Saturday Afternoon

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (1-6, 0-0 MAC) will host Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure (4-2, 0-0 A-10) on Saturday at 2 p.m. Come join us at Alumni as we celebrate Native America Heritage Day.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls are coming off an 81-66 loss at #22 James Madison on Wednesday evening. This marked the third straight season Buffalo played a ranked team (at #25 UConn in 2022, at #6 Michigan in 2021). In the loss, Sy Chatman led the team with 19 points off of eight made field goals. Ryan Sabol scored a career-high 15 points, including going 3-for-8 from three-point range. Jonnivius Smith racked up a career-high three blocks in the contest.
ABOUT THE SERIES
The Bonnies lead the overall series, 11-6. Last season, the Bulls defeated St. Bonaventure on Dec. 3, 83-66. At Alumni Arna, Buffalo is 4-4 against the Bonnies.
THE BULL-ETIN BOARD
Sy Chatman has scored in double figures in every game for the Bulls this season. His 15.1 ppg is good for 11th in the MAC.
This will be the first of two games the Bulls will play a Big 4 rival. In their final non-conference game on Dec. 29, the Bulls will host Niagara for the first time since the 2019-20 season.
Freshman guard Anquan Boldin Jr. is the only Bull to record at least one steal in every game this season. Against Hofstra in the first round of the Gulf Coast Showcase, he had a career-high three steals.
Freshman Ryan Sabol leads the team with 14 made three-pointers on the season.
With a win over St. Bonaventure, it'll mark the second time in program history the Bulls defeated the Bonnies in back-to-back meetings. The first time coming in 2018 and 2019.
