
Bulls Play Hofstra in First Round of the Gulf Coast Showcase

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (1-2, 0-0 MAC) will play the Hofstra Pride (1-2, 0-0 CAA) on Monday evening in the first round of the Gulf Coast Showcase. The tournament can be watched on FloHoops.
LAST TIME OUT
Buffalo earned their first win of the George Halcovage III era with an 89-83 win over Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday evening.
In the win, a total of five Bulls that scored in the double figures, led by Sy Chatman with 19 points. Chatman recorded his first double-double as a Bull with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Jonnivius Smith was perfect shooting the ball as he was 6-for-6 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the free throw line. He recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Shawn Fulcher added 18 points, with Kanye Jones tying his career-high 14 points, and Isaiah Adams scoring 11.
The Bulls shot a season-high 61.4% from the floor, which ranks eighth in program history for single game field goal percentage.
ABOUT THE SERIES
In a knotted series at 2-2, the Bulls and Pride haven't met since the 1993-94 season. UB won on the road, 71-57 on Jan. 12, 1994. This will be the first neutral site meeting between the programs.
THE BULL-ETIN BOARD
Isaiah Adams has started in all 35 games at Buffalo since joining the team last season.
The Bulls have three players returning to the Sunshine State for the Gulf Coast Showcase. Kanye Jones (Orlando, Fla./Windemere), Isaiah Adams (Jacksonville, Fla./Paxon), and Anquan Boldin Jr. (Delray Beach, Fla./IMG Academy).
The last time the Bulls played in the Sunshine State was on Nov. 13 at Florida State. The Seminoles won the contest, 95-68.
This will mark the Bulls' first of four games away from Alumni Arena in the month of November. It'll start with three games in Fort Myers, Fla. at the Gulf Coast Showcase from Nov. 20-22. On Nov. 29, the Bulls will play at James Madison. Buffalo will host the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 2:30 p.m.
The Bulls are 22-11 all-time against teams in the CAA.

The Bulls will either play the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns or Wright State Raiders on Tuesday at either 1:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
