ITHACA, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team fell at Cornell 7-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulls battled hard to start the match but ultimately dropped the doubles point.
In singles action, Cornell won all six matches, but Greg Hastings battled back to take his second set 7-5 where he dropped a tough 10-7 decisive third set at sixth singles.
"Today was a great learning experience for our young team," said head coach Lee Nickell. "Cornell is a top 25 level program, and they played really well today. We hung with them for awhile but didn't have enough in the tank to win some of the close sets. We played with good energy today and will keep putting in the work to get to this level."
The Bulls will have a two week break before returning to action on February 10 to host Cleveland State at the Miller Tennis Center at 7pm.
