
Track and Field Gear Up for Busy Weekend

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo track and field team gears up for a busy weekend. The team will be split between two meets this weekend. William and Mary will host the Colonial Relays from Thursday, March 31 through Saturday, April 2. SUNY Geneseo will host their two-day meet from Saturday, April 2 through Sunday, April 3.
LAST TIME OUT
To start the 2022 outdoor season, the Bulls traveled to North Carolina State for the Raleigh Relays. Over 150 teams participated at the event.
Brandon Burke opened his outdoor season with a win, clearing 7"-00.50" on his first attempt to beat out Shaun Miller of Ohio State. In the women's high jump, Zaria Fuller set an outdoor personal best of 5'-07.00", placing sixth of 33 competitors.
Molly McCreedy had a strong discus opening competition placing 12th of 45 in a throw of 149'-0". Quinn Smith was just off his personal best placing 26th of 40 in 153'-11".
Evan Hilbert won his heat of the 1,500-meter run in a personal best time of 3:53.12, with a blistering kick over the last 150-meters to come from nearly last place to take the win, taking over two-seconds off his previous best time. Cal Puskar, running his first outdoor meet since 2019, ran a big personal best mark improving his time from his freshman year by 26-seconds with his 3:53.42.
